Bundle Up At The River Coat Ministry
The coat ministry is an opportunity for volunteers to make a difference in our community by sharing the warmth of a new coat, the love of Jesus and the Word of God with those in need.  The Bundle Up At The River Coat Giveaway happens every year in the month of October.  New coats, hats and gloves are given to each child accompanied by their parent and/or guardian.  Several hundred coats have been given away since the beginning of this ministry.
New coats are purchased with donations made specifically to the coat ministry by volunteers.  The volunteers transform the church sanctuary into a grand display of coats by size and gender.  The day of the event, volunteers greet the parents and their children, assist them with the required registration form, and help the children select their new coats.  After the even, volunteers store any remaining coats and reset the church sanctuary for regular worship.
Providing physical warmth is a number one goal for this ministry.  Warming their minds and their hearts is another important goal.  We allow the child to select a bible story book, an age-appropriate bible and a devotional that they can share.
If you would like to volunteer for this amazing ministry, you can contact Alice and Dick Quakenbush, Gordon and Paula Bennett, or Tana and Joe Lobb.
